Were you intending to have this page as part of the wiki, Tony?

Yes, just so it isn't just me responsible for maintaining it.  It shouldn't be in any category though.  Unless there are any objections :)

Good idea that others can edit it, especially as it saves you the onerous job.  But other than manual policing, there's nothing to stop commercial outfits adding thenselves over time.

I certainly don't think it should appear on the wiki, so agree it mustant be indexed.  We could link to it with a sticky from the "Oil collection and sourcing" section.

Feel free to call me stupid if I am being so but how do we find the page if it isn't in any category?

That's why I suggested putting it in a sticky thread on the forum.

On the wiki main page ... editors tool bar on the left hand side ... Recent changes.

If you click that you can see ... well, unsurprisingly all the recent changes to the wiki, along with what a hash K.H is making of new pages!

Me too.  You'll note only two minor edits after loading the page!

I dunno who owns these sites but they no longer show

East London,
Kent,
Newport
Fraserburgh, Peterhead & Banff areas

and the 2nd Wolverhampton link is very slow to load and might time out on some slower connections.

Aren't there free link checkers that can take the hard work out of doing this.

If the site isn't being maintained I'd suggest we delete it.

Thinking out loud we need someone really good at coding to write a little programme to check the links periodically, then email the owner if there's a problem.  Two emails in a row and they're out ... now, who do we know who could do that?

there are link checkers you can download but I've never needed to check more than a few dozen links once in a blue moon so it's quicker to do it manually than learn the program I find

lets keep the page, I don't mind checking it now and then, it's well handy for anyone settinfg up a new page.

we can try and find out who owns those few sites and ifn they don't fix em in a reasonable time then delete them
