The end product is still cloudy and thicker than the normal biodiesel I've made. I'm planning to just mix in about 10 gallons of it in the mercedes' 20 gallon tank. Fortunately, it's summer, so the diesel engine should handle it. My main car is a VW Golf TDI. I'll try mixing about half of it in there and top it off with regular diesel.
Doing a 3/27 test or similar ie 10/90 will give you an indication of the purity of the biodiesel you have made. Even though you have hopefully forced your glycerol to drop by the addition of pure glycerine, it is unlikely that you have reached anywhere near 100% reaction, hence your bio being more viscous than normal.

Look at the photo in this link, this shows a purity test where the failed sample has a veg oil residue at the bottom of the tube. As long as you mix your sample in the ratio 10/90 with methanol in a suitable measuring tube and shake well, then settle, the test will work.
