Really excellent website, bet you've spent hours on there.
You posted only the automotive section though, there are many others here ... http://www.homemadetools.net/?gce=ttrig15&utm_expid=57824293-1
Rather reminds me of old Popular Mechanics magazines. I have a couple dating back to the 30s and 40s and they are stuffed full of ideas like this, makes fascinating interesting reading.

Im liking the look of this one -

its a pity that the links on some of the items are dead. Would have been nice if they had have cached them.

I've been looking at this ... http://woodgears.ca/reader/alois/press.html and thinking about glogs.
Strangely Keith's site links to the woodgears site which I flagged up with the gimbal mounted router a little while back ... small internet (as the saying almost goes!)

That is very cool. I'd love the time (and workshop space) to build a decent glyc log maker :)

A local mill will give me as much sawdust as i can take (they load dumpy bags onto my trailer with a forklift!)
Next winter i dont intend to be using the bio-boiler much at all!

God, there are some great ideas on that site.
This one ... http://www.tantel.ca/Sand%20Blaster.html shows a sand blasting cabinet similar to the the one KH made and posted on the VOD, but this chaps idea is to use an old liferaft canister.
Perhaps a little bigger than most people would need but most of the hard work is already done for you ... brilliant!

I wish I had some of these handy when some scallywag pulled my car out the way with his tractor and parked his dirty great trailer outside my house.

I've been looking at sandblasting cabinets for a while, but... the decent ones seam to go for a fortune, I only want one for a few bits when I restore my camper van
there's a few with bits missing... but not knowing how they're made I'm not sure what's missing....
when the shot falls down into the bottom of the cabinet, and is sucked back up to blow around again... anyone know how it's filtered out from the bits of rust etc.. ?

It's not, well the fine particles are drawn out in the dust extraction, but the larger bits get cycled around with the shot.
Or that's how the one I used to operate worked, but that was a proper industrial one, 5m x 4m, self loading using screw feeds in the floor, you didn't just put your hands in, you stood inside it !

Hi Jon, Thanks for the comments. It would be nice to see you getting into a bit of bio making, I'm sure it would lead to some extra pieces of equipment being made that none of us have thought of.
